In the very midst of our vulnerability, sorrow, and distress also lies the opportunity for insight, openness, and the courage to grow as humans. “All movement is a sign of thirst,” writes Hafiz. So: whatever brings you here — whatever weight or pain you carry, whatever is missing, feels edgy or stuck, whatever you thirst for — I’m glad you found your way to Jinji Willingham Psychotherapy & Stage of life Counseling. I’d love the chance to work together to release burdens, remove obstacles, reach for what you want, and help you “live the life you have imagined” (Thoreau).
Welcome to Jinji Willingham Psychotherapy and Stage of Life Counseling, The Path of Care. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Central Austin. My office is nestled into the western edge of Zilker Park, features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Barton Skyway Greenbelt with midcentury-Japanese furnishings, and is a very grounding and restorative space to work together. The office is easy to find and there is plenty of parking.
I work with individuals, couples, and families, and also offer a variety of groups, from weekly support groups and ongoing therapy groups, as well as occasional week-night presentations and monthly half-day workshops. I welcome the opportunity to work with you, and will happily talk with you for 15-minutes or so by phone to get a sense of if and how I might be helpful to you, and to answer any questions you might have. If you want to know about my background, approach to therapy, therapeutic trainings, orientation, policies, and perspectives, you can also “About Me” link. I work with a “soft front and a strong back”: I’m easy to talk to, have a welcoming and compassionate presence, and am open about how I approach my work. I also have a grounded presence and a strong sense of equanimity, which I attribute to years of ongoing therapeutic exploration and a mindfulness practice of over twelve years.
